Our history

Expertise born in the Sahel, with Tenesol.

Solene continues the work of Tenesol Afrique de l'Ouest, a subsidiary of Total and EDF set up in Dakar in 1997. The same trades, a new ambition.

  1. 1983

    Roots in the Sahel

The group that would become Tenesol was founded to bring water to the Sahel: solar pumping and power for remote sites were its first businesses.

  2. 1997

Tenesol Afrique de l’Ouest in Dakar

A subsidiary of the Total and EDF groups, it equipped telecom towers, health centres, boreholes and villages across the region.

  3. 2012

    SunPower West Africa

SunPower acquired Tenesol. The Dakar team carried on the business under the SunPower West Africa banner.

Businesses & industry

Cut your energy bill, secure your operations.

Rooftops, carports, ground-mounted systems, hybrid systems with batteries and generators: we size each installation on your actual bills and consumption.

A lower bill

Less electricity bought from the grid, less diesel burned by generators.

Protected operations

With storage, your critical equipment keeps running during power cuts.

A profitable investment

The savings pay back the installation, which then keeps producing for more than 25 years.

A visible commitment

A smaller carbon footprint, a tangible argument for your customers and partners.

Testing & commissioning

A team dedicated to testing and commissioning.

Solene has built a team trained in electrical testing and equipped it with its own measuring instruments. It works on our own sites as well as for other companies, on ground-mounted plants as well as C&I installations.
